Barcelona's Arthur Melo is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur as they look to bolster their midfield options, according to reports.
Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo claim the Premier League side are set to battle it out with Inter Milan to lure the Brazilian away from the Nou Camp.
Arthur's contract at Barcelona runs until 2024 but it is believed that both Spurs and Inter would substantially improve his wages should he join either club
Seen as the heir to Xavi's throne in the Barcelona midfield, Arthur has won LaLiga and the Spanish Super Cup since joining in July 2018.
With Barcelona keen to sign Lautaro Martinez from Inter, the Italian club in turn have asked about the availability of Arthur, according to Mundo Deportivo.
And the publication adds that Tottenham have caught wind of this are now exploring ways to try and bring Arthur to north London - which could see Tanguy Ndombele move the other way. It has been reported this month that the Catalan giants are interested in the former Lyon man
The coronavirus pandemic has reportedly played a part in Barca's thinking, with everyone bar Lionel Messi now a potential transferable asset at the right price.
While Barcelona boss Quique Setien is keen to keep Arthur he does have a bundle of midfield options at his disposal. The club signed Frenkie de Jong last year, while Carles Alena will return from Real Betis in the summer, with the emerging Riqui Puig and Collado also pushing for a first-team squad place. Sergio Busquets and Ivan Rakitic are also there.
Arthur had made 23 appearances in all competitions for Barca this season, scoring four goals, before Covid-19 suspended football
